Match report Another difficult away trip ending in a disappointing loss and a case of what could have been if catches were held.

Skipper Brown won the toss and inserted the hosts into bat after a heavy shower before the match had livened up the pitch. This move was rewarded when the returning Chris "Colossus" Collis removed Sims in his first over. Unfortunately it all went down hill as both Jenkins and King were dropped early in their innings and then going on to make 38 and 109* respectively. Eventually the Burnham Giant was removed by our very own Jack who took a smart catch of the bowling of Tripathi. This bought the captain Shipton to the crease who after a contentious no ball decision going in his favour moved on towards a 50 before being removed by some good glove work by Cook off the bowling of Oliver. This only brought Smith to the crease who was easily the best batsmen on show making a rapid 31 before being cleaned up Preston who then accounted for Rich and returned figures of 10-2-46-2. This left Shipton marshalling his tail to complete his 2nd 100 in consecutive weeks, not sure he would have been dropped as many times last week as this one though.

So a challenging target set of 252 but with some optimism in the Woodham dressing room as the pitch starting to become more benign. Unfortunately that optimism was short lived as the slow and accurate bowling of opening bowlers May and Perrin accounting for the top 7 with only 57 runs combined. Woodham eventually bowled out for just 61.

A case of catches winning matches once again for the Woodham pups as a potential reachable target turned into a large one and our batting just not up to scratch.
