Match report WMCC made the short trip to bottom placed Boreham seeking to get a much needed victory.

Winning the toss, the visitors asked the hosts to bat. After some early blows from openers Baumber and Saunders, the latter was removed by Wright for 19, the first of four wickets to fall in short succession, reducing Boreham to 40-4. A partnership between Starling and Harrison helped to steady the innings. It took a change to bowling at the road end to earn the breakthrough as Hayman removed Harrison for 17, with the excellent Payne, 12-5-16-0 looking on wondering how he did not earn a wicket. Starling continued to counter attack, and with some support helped to push the total past 100. The speed/spin bowling combination eventually gained the upper hand, with Hayman polishing off the remainder of the home side batting line, finishing with an impressive 5-18 from his 6 overs, with Peggy collecting the other wicket to fall.

The run chase commenced in solid fashion, as Hirst and Smith gave the innings a good foundation, putting on an opening stand of 45 in 12 overs before Hirst was dismissed lbw for 24. Smith shortly followed for 16, and when Tripathi (9) and Coulson (1) returned to the pavillion, WMCC were 62-4 and Boreham sensed an opportunity to win the game. This proved to be shortlived, as over the next 7 overs, the visitors amassed the 60 runs required for victory, as Wright (51*) and Brown (9*) took the game away from the hosts and earnt 24 valuable points in the process.
