Danbury started strongly after being invited to bat, but were pegged back by some tight bowling by Steve Collis and Sam Older. Wickets were hard to come by but the run rate slowed and Danbury eventually made 211 for 5 off there 45 overs.

In reply Woodham got off to a flying start as Chris Collis smashed a quick 26, Chris was out with the score on 40 off 5 overs. The task of consolidation was handed to Trevor Mason (73) and Martin Coulson (79 not out) who were more than up to the task. The run rate settled at the required rate and a historic win came in to sight. The fall of 2 wickets left the watching ensemble nervous, but not the captain for the day Nigel Richardson who accompanied Coulson to the finishing line in this historic game. WMCC 212 for 4.
