Match report A max strength performance against an albeit diluted Bocking side earnt the WMCC 1's a second win on the spin, and the third of the season.

With a new pink ball in tow and swinging prodigiously, Bocking found the going tough. 3's were the order of the day and Butcher battled well to earn his retirement. However, from that point on WMCC took control of the game, restricting boundaries and picking up regular wickets. The Ian Ball/Rod Brazier combination, so effective during the season to date contributed two more dismissals, whilst smart work from both Ball and Beames took care of Cutmore (0) and Brazier (the Bocking equivalent) as he neared 25.

Chasing 100 from 11 overs, openers Ball and Beames started in commanding fashion, expertly running 3's and getting WMCC well ahead of the run rate. Beames fell for 17 with the score on 26, which, as it transpired, was Bocking's only scalp of the innings. Brazier joined Ball, and blazed 3 boundaries, as well as peppering the College roof with a series of shots that would have been worth considerably more outside. Both retired on 25, and left a straightforward task for Chris Collis & Kev Wright to knock off the remaining runs, the thundering six from Collis represented the final nail going into the opponents coffin.

An excellent performance especially against a team below us in the table and a third win in seven games, which represents an excellent return at this level. One further game remains before the Christmas break, with a chance to avenge the opening day defeat against Witham.
