Match report 1st v 2nd in the league and the WMCC 2s came away with a huge victory against always tough opponents. After seeing Wakering race to 100-0 off 14 overs, the fielding fightback, led by Steve Collis with 4-16 and Ollie Glasson with 3-40, saw the leaders pegged at 202 all out. A solid opening stand between Collis and Verlander laid the platform for the run chase. But staring down the barrell at 101-6, with 102 runs needed off 14 overs with 4 wickets in hand, enter debutant Chris Roper (57no), ably supported by David Glasson, Gavin Cook and Craig Marshall and hey presto, WMCC's crossed the line with 2 balls remaining. Gigantic effort...well played all. In the words of the stand in captain...fantastic!
