If you thought Slenderman was something to be fearful of wait till you meet WMCC’s very own slender-man. Craig, the oldest of the Marshall trio ever to wear the Pheasant sigil is the club’s greatest fielder. Craig’s fielding is so good that at the start of every 1’s game Captain Kev trusts only one man to stay on the leg-side field whilst the rest parade on the off. Craig holds the record at WM as the only person to touch every blade of grass in a single innings – a feat he has repeated on three consecutive seasons. Studies have shown that 70% of the world is covered by water, whilst the rest is covered by Craig Marshall. Craig is so quick that every night before he flicks the light switch he is underneath the covers before the room turns dark.
For years many have wondered what the secret is behind Craig’s success. Is it the gallon of green tea he consumes daily? Or perhaps the avocation of a healthy active lifestyle – who runs for fun? Maybe it is a God given gift.
Ever the team player Craig loves to give everyone a game – and when bowling has been too tight and consistent Craig ensures a game is made by gifting the batsman runs just so his pals Rodders and Smithy have something to do. Ha, Batsman. But who cares how many runs you go for our dear Craig when you fill your boots with wickets every season. You sir are a true servant of our club putting your body and heart on the line every week to ensure the pack remains hungry and victorious.
Fun Fact: Don’t talk to him or tell him not to “bowl short” when he comes on for his spell. You’ve been warned.
