Match report The season has ended too soon! After a 4 game warm up, the Thursday version of the Over 40s have hit form with victory in their last 2 games! Against a Chadwell Heath side, containing a well known celebrity, the toss was won and the Heath boys inserted into bat. The WMCC crew rolled back the years in total delight at the devilishly swinging ball. First a run out from Peggy, then John Strange cleaned up that well known celebrity first ball. We weren't done there as Flash proved unplayable, Otis clipped a leg stump, Mr Kneller snaffled a fine catch off Peggy and the skipper rounded it off with a run out! An all round team effort, seeing Chadwell Heath to 79 all out.
Ball and Collis started batting and due to the number of wides bowled, were still there when the score hit 70, before both retiring! It was left to Peggy and Otis to nervously see us over the line and victory by 6 wickets!
A thoroughly enjoyable game against some nice guys to round off what has been a fantastic Thursday night adventure. Smiles all round each week have made this mission a very successful one and we will be back next season to continue this 2 game winning run...
