Match report Woodham Mortimer won the toss and decided to bat. Tight bowling by the Maldon opening bowlers, in particularly R Digweed (4 for one), restricted the scoring. N Hadfield (16 for One) bowled opener Carole Gillies (0), Claire Bulman (8) followed then Smith (5) was run out. The wickets continued to fall steadily, however an excellent knock by Laura Thorogood (28 retired) and cameos from Grace Melhuish (5 not out) and Rebecca Thorogood (6 not out) at the end of the innings got Woodham to a reasonable score of 94.
Elissa Penketh (26 retired) and Hadfield (11) opened for Maldon and got them off to a cracking start before Hadfield was run out. M Dames (25 retired) carried on the mood. Woodham then took 2 quick wickets at the hand of Meluish (10 for Two), giving perhaps a glimmer of hope. However Turner 4 not out) and Digweed (8 not out) completed the scoring with two overs to spare.
