Match report Woodham ladies came out to field in poor light with the weather forecast looking grim. OC's openers came to the crease Mower (25 ret) the only batsman to trouble the Woodies. Excellent bowling again from Verlander (2/13), Hayman (2/18) and Smith (1/11). OC's finishing 92/6. As the rain came down the Woodies batted on. The early departure of Melhuish (3) saw L Thorogood return at no.3 for her only game of the season. The Woodies supporters drew gasps as Thorogood played defensive for a few balls but it wasn't long before Thorogood was back to her old self ...a few singles, a 6, four 4's and Thorogood was off retiring on 28. Brown had a steady start and batted away with a few singles, a few 4's and her first 6 (which was celebrated after the match in the bar.) Brown 27 ret. Hayman (14no) and Sleep ( 6no) hit and ran in the rain taking Woodham to 94/4 a win by 6 wicket. Many thanks to N Hayman who was drenched by the end of the match on umpiring duty and to our supporters once again cheering us on rain or shine
