Match report A little bit of WMCC history was made earlier this evening as the indoor 1's earnt their first victory in the top flight with an excellent all round display to defeat Braintree by 2 wkts.

A solid display in the field helped to keep Braintree in check throughout, with only the final pairing able to produce a partnership of note. Rod Brazier 2-37 and Chris Collis 1-31 the wicket takers. A direct hit from dead eye Ball accounted for the fourth wicket. Braintree eventually posted 128, a challenging, yet gettable total.

Ian Ball(39*) and Chris Collis (21), fresh from a match the previous hour gave the ideal platform to the reply, putting on 50 in just 4 overs. Despite the setback of losing both Chris & Mark Beames to successive run outs, Kev Wright(19) joined Ian to continue momentum. Despite the losses of Wright & Rod Brazier, Craig Marshall (13*) joined Ian at the crease to knock off the remaining runs with 3 balls to spare.

A superb all round team performance and tremendous to get off the mark so early in the season against an established top flight side. More please!
