Match report With the Woodham skipper losing the toss yet again, Rayleigh elected to bat on a hot sunny afternoon on a flat track offering very little to the bowlers. Once again the Woodham bowling, that up to recently was the part of the game that has got us in a promotion position, let us down. Extras was the second highest scorer with 44, and with Ox scoring 63, Rayleigh posted a more than challenging target of 236. Chris Collis was again the pick of the bowlers in what has been a very consistent campaign for him this season, taking three of the six wickets to fall. Woodham's reply stuttered along, with Ashley Wade scoring a hard hitting 31, ably supported by twenties from Josh Brady and Damo. Being honest Woodham never really looked in the hunt and it was left to the tail to at least achieve one batting point. Fortunately with other results going Woodham's way , second place has been retained. So with the return of our Skipper Ian next week, lets hope for a return to winning ways.
