Match report A much changed woodham team carried on there winning ways with a crushing defeat of Sandon.

Losing the toss the Woodham openers of Smith and Woodrow strode to the crease. For once Andy Smith failed to produce a large score and departed bowled Larcher for 4. Enter Martin Coulson to produce his best innings of the season so far. The scoreboard ticked along nicely with Coulson soon reaching a well-deserved fifty. Martin also had the distinction of hitting the overhead wires along the way!!

With the score on 135, Woodrow was out for a hard fought 47. This was a great effort as John has hardly played this season. Martin Coulson was next out for a brilliant 88 with the score on 154.

This left Gavin Cooke and Craig Marshall at the crease. Cooke was out for 8 so enter Chris Collis for his first innings of the season. Chris and Craig kept the scoreboard ticking before Craig was out for 18. Steff Hazel came and went before Collis senior arrived at the crease. These two ran for everything and WMCC closed on 237 for 6

In reply Sandon couldn’t come to terms with the Woodham bowling attack which,along with some great fielding, made scoring difficult. Andy Smith and Craig Marshall opened the attack for WMCC. At first wickets were hard to come by, but the scoring was restricted by wmcc. Marshall removed Wallis for 18. The change bowlers then took there toll on Sandon. John Woodrow was in great form and took 6 for 31. Special mention has to be made of James Dallingers catch, the best of the season I reckon!!! Steve Collis chipped in with 2 wickets in a miserly spell of 2 for 18. James Dallinger took the last wicket of Clark to round off a brilliant Woodham win
