Earls Colne v Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club INDOOR BDICL 1ST SIX on Sun 30 Nov 2014 at 7:30pm
Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club Lost by 6 wkts

Match report After paying a small token of respect following the tragic death of Phillip Hughes, the 1's were asked to bat by opponents Earls Colne.

Unfortunately, most bats could have remained in situ in the changing room, as only a quickfire 31 from Rod Brazier, and 27 from Keith Mitchell, seriously troubled the scorers - as a well below par challenge of 82 was set. It could have been much lower had it not been for the effort of Chairman Mitchell, who became last man standing with the score on 54.

Chasing a small total, Earls Colne batted with sense and savvy and made it difficult for WMCC to exert any real pressure. When a direct hit run out was adjudged not out mid-innings, it rather illustrated that it was not meant to be.

One to quickly consign to the history books, though in this stop start season an opportunity to break the duck arrives quickly, as next week we shall be reunited with old foes Little Bardfield.
