Match report After last week's close loss we needed to bounce back - and we did. The skipper lost the toss - again, and we were put in by the league leaders. DG opened with his spanking new bat and spank the ball he did ! Damo was caught off the ceiling net, Beamsy at no.3 this week continued but when he was out it all changed. With DG retired, Manoj's poor luck with the bat continued, too-eager Ebenezer out without facing, Nathan survived a few and we were in real trouble with only six overs gone and five down. Re-enter the Master Blaster - who pummelled the bowlers and took us to a healthy total. Phew !
We still had to win it though.
NG mixed the bowlers at the start and it paid off - economical overs - especially from Manoj, regular wickets and finally opener and skipper Castell was out.
A great win - top performance in the field and enabled by the terrific recovery by DG to set a target.
We move to joint top of the table with Raphael - and Woodies players lead in three of the top four individual rankings : Beamsy - MVP and catches, and Nathan - wickets.
The pre-match weight training at Pheasant park last weekend paid off - keep going lads !
