Match report The first Friday fixture saw Woodies lose the toss and put into bat. A steady start from the two openers maintained a good run rate, Damo being the first to retire. DG came and went, out playing his trademark attacking defensive shot to a straight one. Ebenezer joined which triggered Beamsy to promptly hit out and also retire. Mano next in and run out on a miscall from the skipper, bringing in Nathan who called and ran like he'd always played the game, keeping the run rate going well until he was out, bringing Damo back to increase the total. Helped by some very wide bowling (wides counting two), we finished with a competitive 115.

Manoj and Nathan opened the bowling and kept it tight. Top fielding kept the pressure on and wickets started to fall, NG failing to gain a hat-trick with a very optimistic lbw shout, and Beamsy involved in all the run outs. Opposition skipper Buttleman returned and hit out, gallantly scoring 20 in the last over which was not quite enough.

A good batting platform, tight bowling and pressure fielding won us the match - the first over 40's indoor game won since the last one .... (some time ago, apparently).

Well done guys and especially Beamsy who excelled in all areas of the game.
Lets do it again next week !
