Match report Promoted! WMCC started the day knowing 5 points would be enough to see them promoted. The visitors, Stock, were the only team able to catch the Woodies and when their score was set for 250, the challenge was definitely on. A tremendous late blast from Chris Collis and difficult catches held by Craig Marshall and Steve Collis, not only gave WMCC 3 vital points but by restricting Stock to under 225, WMCC also bagged the remaining 2 points to seal promotion before tea.

WMCC were still intent on gaining 150 to give daylight between the sides and promotion beyond doubt. The loss of 2 early wickets saw Ian Ball and Nigel Richardson put on 131 before the run chase commenced in earnest. WMCC were to fall 10 runs short but the required points were safely housed and promotion to Div 7, the 3rd in 5 seasons, assured.

Well done to all who have represented the club at 2s level this season and those who have regularly supported the team behind the scenes or from the pavilion. You have all contributed to this achievement and should be immensely proud of yourselves in not only your standard of play but the sporting conduct shown on the field of play this season.
