Match report A great first 2 overs peppered with extras saw WMCC reach 25 of 2 before collis fell. Beames and Mason both retired again this week on 25. New boy Glasson hit a quick ten before being unluckily run out and Martin and Tripathi added 9 between them before Mason and Beames returned to face the last 3 overs of reasonably easy bowling. We really should of added another 30-40 runs off the last 18 balls but we could only manage 6 before Mason fell to a dubious LBW decision and Beames was caught by a very good catch off 2 walls. We finished on 117 which although defendable we felt we really should of got to 150 easily. Braintree had a good start and really seemed to be coasting before a great caught and bowled by Tripathi, a sharp runout by Glasson, followed by 3 quick LBW desisions leaving then needing 17 off 2 overs with one wicket remaining. A six and a four changed the game along with 6-7 dot balls and they needed 5 off the last over. Tripathi bowled a great first 4 balls leaving them needing 3 off 2 and we really thought we had them. unfortunately a quick tip and run saw Braintree home off the penultimate ball. We took 5 wickets and bowled well enough. The loss goes down to Beames and Mason struggling to add after retiring i think. Mason being unluckily given out and Beames slogging again rather than trying to score 3's.

The good news is that Ollie Glasson previously of Margaretting has agreed to join the club for the indoor season and will be a first choice along with all other members
