Match report An excellent start to the new season for the Indoor First VI as a 5 run victory was earnt over Little Bardfield Village. Asked to bat, a productive opening stand from Ball and Wright earnt retirements for both. Smith and Beames took up the reins, pushing the score along well, until Smith was unlucky to be run out as his shot was deflected perfectly for the bowler to complete a simple dismissal. Beames nearly became the third batsman to retire, but fell one short, caught for 24. Shaw (4) and Mitchell (6) shortly followed, so it was left to the opening pair to return to complete the innings. Wright added just four more before being bowled for 29, whilst Ball continued and carried his bat, for an excellent 37.

Tight bowling from Shaw & Wright restricted the normally fluid Hymas, though both he & C. Glidden acheived 25 apeice without being dismissed. Mitchell was the first to strike, Wright taking a catch at the fifth attempt, Olsen out without scoring. A run out and a second wicket for Mitchell, an excellent low catch from Smith brought opener Glidden back to the crease. 40 from 2 overs became 27 from 1, and after a couple of wobbles, Shaw kept his nerve to restrict Little Bardfield to 6 short of their target, WMCC winning by 5 runs.
