Match report A pleasant afternoon down at the Farm, with the 2s welcoming back John Strange, David Goodchild, Russell Barnard and Gavin Cook for their season debuts. It was also pleasing to welcome old WMCC stars, Tony Brock, Steve Smith and Richard Kneller to the ground to lend some support, alongside the Verlanders who came to cheer us on despite George being elsewhere.

WMCC 2s maintained their unbeaten start to their Div 8 campaign with a hard fought win over SWF 2s.

After winning the toss and inviting SWF to bat, WMCC, through Marshall and Flash quickly made in roads into the SWF line up. Wickets continued to tumble but Stanley provided tremendous resistance with 76 out of a total of 120 all out. Goodchild with 4-11 and Marshall with 3-17 the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, WMCC plodded slowly towards the target. 98-2 quickly became 102-5 but the batting held firm to ensure there was no collapse to see WMCC home after 44.1 overs.
