Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club Lost by 45 runs

Match report Glorious weather on a tuesday evening for a game of cricket.

Woodham won the toss and put Boreham into bat.

Pateman took an early wicket to get opener Asif, but Wilkes and Sharif took a liking to Sammy Normans bowling put a few balls into and over the boundary.

They continued at the start of Sam Older's 1st over with a 6 but Sharif picket out Lugg in the same over and was gone for a quick 42.

A Beames bowled well again and took off the top of off stump of the aggressive Wilkes for 38 and although Boreham had got over 100 in 10 overs the rate slowed in the second 10.

Great to see Mat Oliver back and his crafty spin took 4 Boreham wickets- Well burgled PC Oliver.

Young Josh also had a good spell with the ball.

2 catches for Ryan Lugg but 164 was a big ask after the fast start Boreham got off to.

Thanks for Mark Beames who kept today. A few hopeful appeals but not registering on the scorecard this week Mark.

Woodham opened with the 2 Nicks and it was Nick Richardson who more than just nicked it for Borehams Mat Hill to take a simple catch. Nick Goode hit a 4 and then nicked one to slip that was well taken low by Baines.

A Beames bravely batted at 3 and was unbeaten on 33. Well batted Angus. (Although what was running your mate out all about.)

Rory made a steady 20 but the rate was creeping over 10 an over. Ryan was Bowled for 5 and Josh hit a lovely shot but was then called for 2 and sent back as the ball reached the stumps with him a number of yards short.

Sam Older came in and hit a fairly quick 25 but Woodham were always going to fall short and ended 45 runs behind.
