Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club Ladies XI v Old Chelmsfordians on Fri 09 May 2008 at 6.30pm
Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club Won by 141 runs
Match report
Woodham won the toss and decided to bat. Throgood and Smith got off to a good start with thorogood getting to 25 very quickly, Brown came in next and carried on the good work soon retiring. Smith got there eventually to her 25! Scriviner bowled by a great ball from Bayley. Guppy and King both put in great knocks contributing to a good score. Old chelmsfordians came in with the light fading. Scrivener got a wicket in the first over and from there on in the wickets fell at regular intervals, there was some stubborn resistance from Alice Green. A mention to for a stunning catch taken by Brown to dimiss Liz. Unfortunately Laura Bayley had to retire hurt after being hit on the nose. However the game was played in a great spirit and I would like say that despite the score Old Chelmfordians will without doubt get better as they have a great enthusiasm and a lot of potential and are a good addition to the league.
Old Chelmsfordian lady of the match is Laura Bayley
Woodham Mortimer lady of the match is Victoria Brown.
