Tomorrow night we get the 20/20 season underway with our opening fixture v Purleigh at Woodham.
Our record v Purleigh since records began stands at 3 wins and 7 losses with 4 fixtures cancelled.
I have now posted the team in batting order.
Generally the bottom 5 bowl, the top 5 bat with the keeper in the middle. This is the way I will select the side over the season. I am more than happy to be more accommodative and if any one has a preference please text me on 0771 8585798. I will try to make sure I mix it up each week to give everyone a fair go. I will also have a look at the weekend games to see who has done what and then select accordingly. E.g. 2 bats on the weekend, then probably bowling on Tuesdays.
The selection policy will be similar to Sundays and we will select players who havent played on the weekend first, followed by those who have played once then those who have played twice
The only change to this will be the 4 Warsop 20/20 cup Games where we will try to pick the best team available and play to our strengths! After all we have a semi final berth to defend!
Just a reminder: I maybe be very close to 6pm this year most games, so could I ask everyone to get on with setting up and getting the game started with or without me, I will elect a vice captain each game and I am more than happy for them to do the toss..( and bat of course)
Our preference is to always play with the orange ball and bowl 10 or 5 from each end with 2 runs for extras and no extra ball except the last over. We can be flexible on that and if i am not there I am more than happy for the vice captain to work it out. Generally we retire on 50. Just dont mess with my batting order, its run by an algo!
It would be great to win more than 8 games this season but the 20/20 team will continue to be selected to make sure The Club continues to provide cricket for all. We are an all inclusive club and the only way to maintain that is to make sure everyone gets to play as much cricket as they want to .
And finally...... if you havent yet paid your Annual subs, I wont pick you again till you have! please pay me tomorrrow night or directly into the club bank account
