AGM round up for the BDICL

14 Apr 2015

Annual General Meeting in brief

The Annual General Meeting of the League took place on April 10th.

The structure of the League was then discussed and with no further withdrawals or applications for membership, the existing 29 teams will now participate in three divisions, thereby giving each team more matches next season. With one exception the new divisions have been based upon the final places from the season just ended. Division One will be the same eight clubs from this season, plus Gosfield and Terling. Division Two will be the remaining five teams from this season, plus the top four from Division Three from this season. In addition, the tenth place will be taken by Kelvedon & Feering, this is because our rules state that they must be in a higher division to their Reserve team, even though they ended the season below High Garrett and Earls Colne Reserves in Division Three. Division Three will therefore contain those two teams, plus Terling Reserves, and all six of the teams in last seasons' Division Four.

Subscriptions and match fees will remain as they are.

It was also agreed to use the hard ball in the Reserve League Cup next season.

The two Preliminary round ties in the BDICL Cup are: Wethersfield v High Easter, and, Witham v Rayne.

The First Round draw is: Sampfords v Earls Colne; Marconi v Witham or Rayne; University of Essex v Woodham Mortimer; Little Bardfield Village v High Garrett; Gosfield v Kelvedon & Feering; Braintree v Three Fields; Terling v Wethersfield or High Easter, and, Braintree College v Boreham.

The First Round draw in the Reserve League Cup required three ties, and they came out of the bag as follows: Boreham Reserves v Witham Reserves; Braintree Reserves v Terling Reserves; Earls Colne Reserves v Woodham Mortimer III.

The other teams all receiving byes to the Second Round, the draw for which was as follows: Kelvedon & Feering Reserves v Boreham Reserves or Witham Reserves; Braintree Reserves or Terling Reserves v Rayne III; Rayne Reserves v Earls Colne Reserves or Woodham Mortimer III; and, Woodham Mortimer Reserves v Braintree College Reserves.
