BELOW IS AN EMAIL WE SENT OUT TODAY LOOKING FOR LADIES PLAYERS. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. WE ARE IN DANGER OF THE LADIES TEAM HAVING TO FOLD. WE NEED THE CLUB, ITS MEMBERS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO MAKE AN EFFORT TO ATTRACT NEW MEMBERS AND KEEP OUR HUGELY SUCCESSFUL LADIES TEAM AFLOAT.
Firstly, apologise for the ‘cold’ email, however desperate times call for desperate measures!
After 8 hugely successful seasons of Ladies cricket at Woodham Mortimer, we suddenly find ourselves desperately short of players. With the core of the team reaching working age we are faced with the problem of players not being able to make it back from work in time.
So we are asking our cricketing community for some help.
If you know of anyone who wants to join a successful ladies teams or your wives and girlfriends have watched you play on a weekend and reckon they could do better than you, or you are in admin at a local club without a ladies team and always fancied donning the pads and picking up the willow, or you are part of a school community which doesn’t have any cricket and you would like to get some of the girls involved then please get in contact with us.
We believe it is extremely important to maintain a healthy ladies league in our community and we will do our best to continue to make this a reality, and that is why we ask for your help in passing this information on.
Age or ability are no obstacles!
