Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club

Good Afternoon everyone,

As the first washed out game of the season is upon us we thought we would email out an update!

1)Tonight is the last of the winter nets at the Essex indoor centre. A big thank you to Kev for organising what has been a huge sucess. The numbers have been beyond our expectations and hopefully we have generated a degree of club spirit to take into the new seaosn. I am sure this will become a regular fixture on the Woodham Calender.

2) Availabilty. We now have 37 members who have logged on and updated their availabilty on line. This is a good number but there are still a few to round up! If you havent done it yet please do it! It really makes the captains job so much easier. As we have a good squad of players this year, and the captains will be selecting on line, if you dont update your availability you run the risk of missing out on selection.

3) Work party this Saturday. there has been quite a lot of work done over the last 2 week ends, and  a big thank you to Gary and Debs Verlander,  without them the club house would still look like cesspool!!  We desparately need 4-5 people on Saturday around 10am. Don needs help to get the new side screen up onto the base. He has the fork lift lined up and we just need a bit of muscle.  It will take an hour at the most. If you can make it please text Mark Beames on 07718585798 so we have an idea of numbers. The white picket fence also needs a paint and the new signs need to be posted at the gates.

4) Membership subs. A reminder that subs are due by the end of april! No pay No play! as the saying goes. All the payment details are on the website under membership

5) Club Shop. The club shop is up and running. If you havent used it or noticed it you will see the link on the top menu. For all your kit requirements and the club earns a small percentage of every purchase.

6) Easy fundraising. A great way for us to raise money. Please see the link on the top of the website. I have already donated a few quid just by ordering dominos pizzas! If we all booked our summer holidays through this link we could easily raise a thousand pounds. Remember this does not cost us any money. The retailer donates a small percentage per transaction done through easy fundraising

7) Inter-club. Saturday 27th of April at home 1pm start, and first get together of the season. Please update your availabilty on line if you want to play.

8) Sunday Xl. Sunday 28th of April at home. 1pm start V Terling. (probably get to bowl bouncers at Roger or hit him out of the ground!) First Sunday game of the season. Please update your availabilty on line if you want to play.

9) Website Tips. You can have 2 email addresses loaded up under your details . This means you can have a personal and a business email address so you wont miss any selection emails. All the stats are now loaded back to 2006 and we are still going. 

10) 2013 Tour. We now have 13 Woodham Players touring in September  to the Isle of Wight. This is fantastic news and thank you to George Verlander for becoming number 13. (The entire squad is posted under the teams tab) We can only take 14 players so we still have one place open. £300.00 all in for 4 game sover 4 days. If you have any interest contact Mark or Kev ASAP.
