The over Forties..... on fire with second win!!
After Woodrow won the toss and sent the opposition in, they set about scoring quickly and soon had 2 players retired. Peggy came on to bowl a tight spell and finally a break through with a good low hard catch by Beames. The over was a wicket maiden; priceless in indoor cricket; and the runs started to dry up. An easy runout saw Hornchurch finish on 104 for 2 off their 10 overs. Not a bad performance but we could still tighten up in the field and probably gave them 15 runs in poor fielding.
Ball (28) and Beames (27) gave us the best possible start with both retiring by the 5th over, and then Reddin (25) backing up last weeks top innings with another quick fire 25, saw us close. A few nerves in the final over as Ball pushed a 3 to take us to victory off 9.4 balls!
Another Fantastic effort and a really wonderful start to the indoor season.
Seems to me to be a real team effort and someone has always managed to shine.
The Answer to our win was probably the motivational text we all recieved from captain Woodrow 4 hours before the match!!!
