I don’t know what’s more surprising with Lewis. The fact that with a name like ‘Irons’ he doesn’t support West Ham (He supports Colchester – what’s a Colchester?) or the fact that with his slim tall frame he bowls with the furious pace of a slow Olly Glasson. But who cares if your balls stay longer in the air than flight mh370, with swing like yours and a knack to get wickets who cares? The ever-loveable Irons was signed in late 2016 when neighbour Nick Goode said he knew of a young lad who was a bit tasty when it came to a ball in his hand. We all had something else in mind when our Nick mentioned that and prepared for the worst. But, in time, we was pleasantly surprised when young Lew burst onto the scenes, much appreciated Mr Goode! Since his arrival IRONS IRONS IRONS has picked up a few wickets, hit at least 2 or 3 balls with the bat, and made some new mates. Village cricket. You just cannot beat it. Currently one of the quieter ones in the group we are soon going to change that. With a big winter ahead hopefully our Lewis can push on and continue his development to become one of the key players in the 2017 WMCC campaign. COYI!
