Nestled in the Essex countryside, Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club (WMCC) has proudly served the local community since 1784, making it one of the oldest cricket clubs in Essex. The club's origins date back to the 18th century, and its long and distinguished history is recognised through membership of the "1700s Club", a group celebrating cricket clubs founded before 1800.
Today, WMCC continues to provide cricket for all ages and abilities. We field multiple outdoor teams, including two Saturday XI sides competing in the T-Rippon Mid Essex Cricket League, a Sunday XI playing friendly fixtures, and a midweek T20 XI. We also run indoor teams that compete across leagues in Braintree and Chelmsford.
Members benefit from excellent facilities, including a well-maintained private ground, practice areas, and a clubhouse with a licensed bar. Social events are held throughout the year and promoted through our website and social media channels.
